A forest by Aerion-the-Faithful A forest by Aerion-the-Faithful
Hello again dear watchers and watcherettes,

This week I'm trying to get back to posting regularly and even though the holiday season's fast approaching has me busy like you wouldn't believe, I want to still show you artwork whenever I have a free moment.

With the whole 'The Hobbit' fever going around (which I must admit I have been feeling myself too!), this illustration I did a while back for Dave Pauwels seems very appropriate.
I've always had so much respect for J.R.R Tolkien's legendarium that I dare not illustrate it, knowing how wary he was of illustrators and their interpretations. However, upon receiving this assignment, I did my best to do justice to what I found so magical in his books. And that isn't the epic battles, undead armies or powerful wizards. It's the trees and the wind, the rivers and the sun upon the grass of The Shire or Lothlůrien; it's the simple things, that make this book great.

I hope I've done the Lady of the woods some justice here and see you all soon!

NamariŽ!

Nic.-

An unexpected delight, to paraphrase the title of the first chapter (or first film). I think you've done a wonderful job on capturing an air of elvish beauty with this portrait. :)
