Well, it's certainly been a while since I've posted any Warhammer 40,000 art, and knowing that there are a lot of fans of the Dark Millenium watching my gallery, I thought this 'comeback' might interest them...
The illustration depicts a character named Chorazin, Grand master of The Angels of Vengeance, and the original model it was based upon was painted by Golden Demon and Slayer sword winner, Chris Borer; here you can have a look at his miniature in the coverage that Games Workshop posted of the Chicago Games Day 2007: [link]
I'm very proud of how this illustration came together and I hope I've done justice to his fantastic model. I also tried a new white pen I bought recently and that has allowed me to do a lot of nifty effects like more subtle glows, fine lining to separate objects in the background and foreground and the small script over the swrod of Chorazin.

I really like the almost rusty-gold colour of the big guys armour and sword hilt. I love the smoke and sky, especially.
The gradation from the pure white to the dark gray is done so smoothly.
All the shading in this...it just blows me away.

Truly fantastic and beautiful piece of work : )

I love the miniture this is based on, but your illustration of it, just ROCKS! The rust colored armor, green glow on the robes, the heretic making the aquila and the helmet bearer and helmet, all just do wonders for this piece and in ways show more character then the mini it was based on. Awsome come back piece, and it is nice to see something other then Smur...errr..Ultramarines on here. Gotta fav this and show it to my Dad, and this piece as always, reminds me why I wish I wasn't such a broke 16 year old.
