Happy Friday, fellow watchers and watcherettes!

Well, 2013 seems to be keeping me mighty busy already, with a workload like you wouldn't believe. I'm doing, on average, 60 pages a month worth of comic projects. Yeah, 60. I'd like to think Jack Kirby would be proud of me...

As usual, most of these projects are still non-disclosed, so I can't show much about them. What I can (and shamelessly will) show you, is both FREE MARS and Divinity's updates, which are not only disclosed, but well advertised too.

Here we have Divinity's first page. After a short Prologue, we dive into the first Chapter of the saga that, as writer Kevin Rojas Veliz explains, "will be the introduction of Robert Maddock and how he gets involved with the gifts or (curses) from Yggdrassil."
He also notes that "the monochrome pallette work perfectly again against the the setting of this chapter's location : Cardiff." And I have to agree with that statement.

Monochrome was my weapon of choice back in the day and I still think it's one of the best rendering techniques with my style. For some reason working with grays and adding an element of color here and there accentuates my style and helps me make the storytelling of my pages all the more compelling.
I love the period setting of this tale, as you might gather from seeing these pages and even though some extensive research has to be made to be truthful to places and clothing and etc., it's still worth it just to see that kind of old photograph quality to my illustrations.

I hope you enjoy this one too and come by the site tell us what you think!

Nic.-
