Happy Friday, marsers...

It's been some time since I uploaded an actual page from FREE MARS; I leave that mostly to our weekly updates on the website itself.
However, from time to time, I like to show you what I deem some of my best work on it; though, honestly, I think all of this tale is my best work to date.

This page here, lacking any actual dialogue, depicts the human colony on Io, one of Jupiter's moons. An inhospitable place, to be sure: full of volcanic activity and a acid atmosphere mostly composed of sulphur and gaseous emanations, it is quite different from our Mars. Thus, I tried to do something very distinct, artistically.

The script mentioned H.R Giger as the inspiration for the club Levianthan, so I tried to do my best impression of him; quite convincingly, I should say. I also changed the palette from the typical red to a sulphuric yellow and the clothing is obviously quite different. There are less CSC operatives and employees (as Io's more independent from the corporation that rules Mars), and the ones there are sport the ubiquitous mining outfit, but with a yellow pattern to fit the colony. But the most interesting change (for me at least) is that I actually made the Iosans' complexion tanned, as opposed to the colder tones of the Martians. Living amonst lava and heat will do that to you, compared to the colder red planet.

So, there you go; I hope you agree that, despite being a page, this one has a lot of illustrative value to it.
