Flight of the Binturong by Aerion-the-Faithful Flight of the Binturong by Aerion-the-Faithful
And speaking of webcomics...

Here you have the cover of one of the man I'm illustrating, which went live last week: Flight of the Binturong.

Written by Sal Crivelli ( ~TheLittleHouse ), drawn by me and colored by the amazing Pedro Figue, Flight of the Binturong is described thus by Sal:

"IT'S THE FUTURE.

But don’t worry. A lot’s still the same.

No evil Empire. No oppressive theocracy. No galactic struggle. The government’s too bureaucratic for all that noise.

The Binturong is a mechanic ship with a crew of four. In the heyday of interstellar repairs, if your ship needed fixing, rigs like The Binturong would come to you, make repairs, and send you on your way. Nowadays, newer ships (along with most technology made in the last few years) have self-diagnosing AI that assesses, isolates, and self-repairs. It makes for safer, further space travel (and longer unemployment lines).

Flight of the Binturong is a once-a-week comic, which will update every Tuesday.

Inspired by the works of James Cameron, John Carpenter, and Joss Whedon, we’re hoping to bring you a comic that invokes that old feeling of cool, gritty space, while hopefully taking you on some new, exciting adventures."

This project came together under the tutelage and experience of OUTLAND Entertainment and ~JerMohler and I couldn't be more pleased with the result. It is rare that I let someone else color my drawings, but my scheduling didn't allow for me to take over those duties, so I trusted Jer would find someone to do an amazing job. And he did, of course! Pedro's hues and painterly style are very simple, yet poignant and striking. And most important of all, it respects my style and enhances it whilst still making an impression of its own.
Sal's script is riddled with familiar places, yet still feels frash and original and there's a great sense of lived-in universe that I think makes this webcomic a hell of a ride!

So, head over to the official website www.flightofthebinturong.com/ and check it out. And if you feel generous give us a like/fav/comment. This is a fabulous project and you'll be very entertained!

See you all there!

I didn't even knew it existed! But it is a cool creature, indeed.

Nic, this cover piece is going into my list of your top works. :)

The way  Jer did the glow of the spaceship, and especially the colors and transition of the sunset, looks MAGNIFICENT! It really works well with your drawing style.

Thank you for the comic links, I'll definitely have to check these out.

Thank you, Colonel!

The cover and webcomic are actually painted by Pedro Figue, not ~JerMohler; he does the whole art direction. And yes, he did an awesome job of the whole, especially considering that the space filled with sky was actually a big white empty slot in the original black and white.
Definitely check out the comic. I'm way ahead in terms of pages, so I can honestly tell you it's great sci-fi :)

Thank you, my friend!

I'm finishing up your pieces, so they should delight more than a few fans over here ;)

At first glance, I think this looks like a Homeworld meets Firefly kind of thing.

I have to check it out right away, obviously.

Thank you very much, mate!

And do check it out; there's a lot of influences to this tale and I like that it doesn't shy away from them, but actually pays them homage. I think you'll be very entertained.
