"My name is Max. My world is fire and blood."

If you haven't watched the trailer for George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road, go do it. Now. Seriously.

It's been a while since I posted any artwork, with commissions, pages and several projects taking up all of my time. Yet, out of the myriad eye-popping trailers and announcements at the latest SDCC, something stood out by far amongst the things I anticipate for 2015.
If you know my work, you know that I love post-apocalyptic settings; and it can all be traced back to when I first saw The Road Warrior many years ago. Never had a movie mesmerised me so much with its bleak, desertic landscapes, interrupted suddenly by the roar of the furious engines searching for the ever elusive gasoline. Miller had set in motion a love for this type of settings in me that would only grow with time, eventually leading me to many projects within the same genre.

To be honest, I never thought I'd be so mind-blown as I once was when I saw the original Mad Max trilogy. Until I saw Fury Road's trailer.

:faint:

This movie, or at least what's been shown so far, is beautiful. Truly, utterly gorgeous. Miller's vision seems to have only improved with time and given the tools, he's now crafted a masterpiece that from the very short trailer we've seen is already being deemed a classic. Hardy's performance looks spot on: The fact that the actor who played the villain in the first movie is back as the nemesis in this one too is just pure genius; and what to say of Charlize Theron? That woman would only have to sprout wings to be any more awesome! Her character, Imperator Furiosa captured my imagination right away: her war paint, the DIY pneumatic arm... it's the very essence of the post-apocalypsis. Its purest form. And so I had to take a couple of hours to give tribute to this amazing vision.

I know we're still a long way to go until the movie can be really measured in its success. But for an old road warrior fan like me, those two minutes have already given him fuel to keep roaming the desert highways of Max's universe.

I hope you enjoy this one and let me know what you think! Were you a fan of the original films? What do you think of the latest trailer?

Have a great week!
