this isn't a tradition of mine, but I thought I'd break the habit this Monday and uload something to kickstart the week in full swing. And what better subject than the Dark Millenium!
I usually get a LOT of commissioned work from fans of Warhammer 40,000 that doesn't go onto dA. Mostly because some are personal pieces or DIY Chapters that I don't want to popularise and have the client scourging the web trying to suffocate stolen ideas... but sometimes, certain images deserve to be shown. This is one such piece.
You're seeing here Inquisitor Kaltos; a very straightforward servant of The Holy Inquisition, but one that struck me as very metaphorical of what The Inquisition actually is. His grim death-mask, inscrutable, cold and expressionless, I think defines what Inquisitors are all about: judges and executioners of The Emperor, purging the hidden foes of mankind.
So, there you go. A small, but very significant piece that i hope you enjoy. There will be more to come as the week progresses!
I would disagree the Inquistion is cold, judges and excustioners. Actually, I would say the Inquistion is quite the opposite when you look into it. It's made up of hot heads trying to out dick each other, even helping the Imperium becomes second place to power grabbing in many cases.
I especially like the pitiless expression on the mask. It fits very well with his foreboding nature as an Untouchable.
