And after that nostalgia break we had a few dys ago, here I plunge again into the darkness of the far future again.
I actually did this image because something struck me the other day whilst revising old works; I'd never drawn a Chaos Space Marine before! I mean I've drawn some Pre-Heresy Death Guard, even a Khornate Sister of Battle, but never a proper, fully armoured Chaos Undivided Captain. Thus, this illustration. It's a MiniMasterpiece as you've read in the title and the character depicted you've seen before here: [link] Many were the comments pointing out this Black Legionnaire's lack of common sense in charging a Living Saint, but such is the nature of Chaos: relentless hatred and madness for the sake of destruction and against the False Emperor. I wanted to depict a figure of commanding stature. Someone you would follow into the very Eye of Terror or against a Living Saint and I think I may have achieved it. I particularly enjoyed rendering a pale, deathly skin tone, which I hadn't in a while. Let me know what you think, fellow watchers! VERY IMPORTANT: I'm thinking of letting go of this original, so whomever is interested, please Note me and we'll sort out the details. Nic.- PS.. And yes, I know his backpack isn't the usual Chaos backpack, but I always disliked those. I much prefer to think some of the Traitor Space Marines wrwen't warped so much and still had that Imperial armour air to them which would cause more fear in the Enemy. © Games Workshop Ltd. 2009 |

Let no one rob you of that powerful motivational force known as vision...seeing not only what is...but what can be.
He's brilliant! I love the face, the tones are exactly how i try and paint the skin for my Chaos models...
Nice to see my beloved Black Legion getting the love properly!

Jim Raynor believed in himself and believed in those around him. And from that strength came the strength that allowed him and those who followed him to survive everything else the universe threw at him. Jim Raynor was a most decent and honorable man.
