I'm updating the Gallery very briefly today, with a little something I did in less than two hours' time, but I greatly enjoyed; both in execution as well as in the results obtained.
I've drawn the mighty opponent of this evil foe in a couple of occassions, but I never actually got to render The Red Skull in all his national socialist glory. I must admit I greatly enjoyed referencing the Obergruppenführer uniform I dressed him with, as well as his creepy visage. For me, there's something about these sort of villians being dressed in common garments, instead of spandex costumes that makes them more real. As well as more frightful. The actual Red Skull is my favourite part of this, of course. I managed to capture a bit of the insane looks of the character, but still retaining a somewhat cold attitude of calm tyrannic power to him. As if those eyes had seen something veiled to the rest of us. Something very, very dark.
So, enough of the rant and enjoy the Saturday update! I will go back to the drawing board tonight to do a 'Revolutionary Saturday' sketch of everyone's favourite free marsers from FREE MARS!
That is perfect, one of the best Red Skull's I have seen. I especially like the little touches from the well researched uniform to the aryan blue eyes. The Red Skull is a hard character to capture without just making me him either too skull or not enough, but is perfect. We can only hope he looks so good in the Captain America movie.
