Sunshine

‘The Sun symbolizes the awakening of the conscience, child’, said The Magician, ‘and the clarity that stems at dawn after a night of travelling through the dream world. This is the reason why this card is an opposite of The Moon.’
The Empress of the Sun kept dancing graciously on her shining fountain of liquid gold and paid little attention to the ramblings of the old man. They’d been together for centuries, and he had always been cryptic and mysterious; behaviour that had nothing to do with the childishness of the rebel Monarch herself. However, out of respect, she listened quietly because somehow The Magician had a voice that instantly captivated you. It was his voice the music she danced to…
‘The Sun prevents us against pride and despotism’ continued the veiled man, ‘and it leads us to nobility, generosity, vitality and success. If used correctly of course… this card is a metaphor that shows us our limitations and the superior knowledge, focusing our strengths. The Sun is a teacher.’
‘Are we The Sun?’ asked the Empress, her dance interrupted. The Magician sighed.
‘We are now’, he replied, ‘although I wish we had been before The War, when our numbers were great and increased everyday. But we were too young and our mindsets were aimed towards a physical struggle rather than a spiritual enlightment; that was our downfall: to believe us wise, when we were infants in the path of the truth.’
Both the Empress and her Guardian looked upon the spread skulls adorned with white flowers upon the white empty halls of their level and silence fell upon them.
And then, she danced again, while the cards moved swiftly between the hands of The Magician once more.

This is yet another illustration of 'Utopia', my upcoming graphic novel. I think this will be the last of this series that i will upload since i want the "Preview" to have some actual 'exclusiveness' in it. If you were there with me since the first days of this Gallery, you probably saw the previous 'Sunshine' illustration that i deleted because i wanted to upload this newer version.
