Artist's Comments

Two-Face: You thought we could be decent men at indecent times. But you were wrong; the world is cruel, and the only morality in a cruel world is chance.
[holds up his coin]
Two-Face: Unbiased.
[looks at Gordon]
Two-Face: Unprejudiced. Fair.

So...

I know, I know... two homages in a row for this movie? Am I exaggerating? I don't think so. There's just TOO much depth into it and I've always been one to chew good deep movies over and over again.
I've had a lot of busy, busy, busy days (which you'll read about in my Journal) and I didn't have much time to do anything else, for myself, or for this gallery. So, whilst relaxing yesterday, I started to doodle and The Dark Knight popped into my head again... especially the character of Harvey Dent/Two-Face. I've always been haunted by him, especially because of the duality and simple mindset that Dent exersises through his coin; a black and white, pure random mentality in a world of grays... there's a lot to analise there. As well as the everlasting subject of "the fall", which is our most defining trait.
I feel related to him in a way, being an idealist myself. Often, when you get too high, the harder you hit the ground when you fall.
Chistopher Nolan and Aaron Eckhart have interpreted this in a most wonderful and intrincate, yet astonishingly simple way (as many other features in this great film) and thus I felt compelled to illustrate one of my favourite scenes...

I hope you enjoy it! And I promise there won't be more Dark Knight for a while, heh...

Nic.-

PS.. I also like the detail of the coin, which (to me) is such a simple and yet ominous and terrible object, just sitting there. It reminds me of the Ring of Sauron, in the LotR. There's such a deep meaning to it, than what the object truly is. It represents a force beyond reckoning, a doom, of sorts...

That was one of my favourite moments within the entire film, I think the transition between dent and two face is great, not to mention the make up for Two face is the best I've ever seen for the character.

Keep up the good work, your style is great and works on a good basis. any ways have fun ^.^

Awe-Some! :#1:

Unlike most folk, my favorite character in "Dark Knight" was Dent, and I've been waiting, wanting, hoping that some Deviant people would do some artwork of him.
And low and behold, you made this beautiful, touching piece, easily one fo the crown jews of your already wonderful gallery.

Keep up the awesome work! :)

I wouldn't mind if you made another batman fanart piece. :+fav:

This movie was awesome. There is so many cool scenes in that movie. I personnaly like the part where the Joker meets the mob while they are busy with their 'group therapy session' and his speech while he is hanging upside down.

In my oppinion, none of the other superhero movies comes even close to this film. Not spiderman, not fantastic four or superman.

I agree completely, mate! There's actually a critic who said that the film was a 'contant climax', and I think that's the best way to describe it. Once you get into remebering good scenes, you end up quoting the whole movie...

I was a bit afraid that i might be overreacting doing so many interpretationd from the film, but the response has been so encouraging that I may keep bringing some more pieces about it...

Thanks again!
