Happy Moon Day, fellow watchers and watcherettes!
Last week (and the ones that will follow including this one) have ben keeping eme so busy I barely have a moment's rest from pages, commissions and design... luckily, some of all that artwork can be shown here for your delight (?).
It's been a few deviations since I've plunged onto the Dark Millenium and this image isn't a complete return to it. Because, whilst it portrays two Imperial assassins (a Vindicare and a Callidus Temple one), the situation they're involved in is far from 'grim, dark' and all that.
This is a piece for a very patient and trustworthy client, featuring her roleplaying character in the 41st millenium, at the end of her illustrious career. As a rolepleyer myself, I know it isn't often that your character ends up with a happy life after his/her adventures. But it's very cool to see when one does, and such is the case. These two, despite all the horror they've witnessed (and delivered!), decide to go against all odds by sharing a kiss and much more until death catches up.
I'm very proud of this piece, as it features many elements I've been trying my hand at for several months, especially the coloured frames and the desturation of the background to bring the characters up front even closer to us. I also like how their kiss reflects in their suits' blending of blacks and lights.
I hope all of you out there who enjoy Warhammer 40,000, have a blast seeing something that isn't everyday in this universe.
Let me know what you think and have a great week!

PURGE!
Brilliant.
But I strongly believe that assassins have absolutely no personality.
