Dear watchers and watcherettes...
I apologise to you all for the long absence from this Gallery, but I've been swamped with work; and not all of it I can show. Hopefully, though, as things get released and I get permission from clients, I'll be able to post up my most recent illustrations.
This is one such work. A commission for :devdieslrate: of his Rogue Trader's campaign characters.
His brief was very interesting and he's already commissioned other talented artists to work on this subject, so I was honoured to be a part of his tale (which you can find here: [link]
The references to 'The Adventures of Baron Munchausen' as well as the very pulp feel of the whole atmosphere Alexander wanted for this piece resonated with my own tastes, so I believe the final result to be one of my best.
The characters appearing here are, as described by Alexander himself:-Magos Robertson
High Tech-Adept of the cruiser "His Invincible Will", Magos Robertson is in a class of his own. He's smart enough to perform brain surgery on himself (and he has), and tough enough to fight traffic bare-handed (and he has, again). He's not much of a people-person, but he is very impressive. The Dread Magos Robertson is rightly feared from Footfall to Idumea.-Cornelius Crime
Wanted by every authority and power in the Expanse for crime he certainly did commit, Cornelius is a man on the run. While he can't remember exactly how he lost his ship (he was very drunk), he ended up working for Lord Captain Olivares as a pilot and a brawler. He has more concealed weapons than strictly plausible. His peg-leg is a grenade launcher, his hat conceals a plasma gun, and some of his rings are explosives while other shoot lasers. He is a very dangerous man when sober, and slightly more dangerous while drunk (but a better pilot).-Lord Captain Laertes Geneso Olivares
The man, the legend, the Lord Captain. They say that he's visited a hundred worlds and sought dominion over them all. They say he fought a God-King of the Dread Necrontyr, duelled an Eldar Farseer for a planet made of gems, has a 5km long warp kraken at his beck and call, and that he stole the Chorda dynasty from under the nose of its former holder. All stories are impossible, yet all are true.
Be sure to check out the great story that gave birth to this characters following the link above, and, as usual, let me know what you think!
See you soon!
