"Yellow could barely remember when killing people had become a business enterprise. She knew that she had struck out on her own because of hatred; hatred of the sacred order of monks that she had failed to impress so many years ago. She had wanted so badly to become a devoted disciple and learner, but her dreams were of little consequence to those she wanted to serve. The Masters had shamed her, and in a twisted sense of irony she had promised that her skill as an assassin would become legendary. The Monks had called her 'unreliable'. Unreliable!
The trail of dead she had left in her wake attested to her reliability. Now every creature inside the tower came straight to her - if they could afford it. Her word was a guarantee. She had seen the terror on the faces of the Masters when she came back for them..."
This is another illustration from 'Utopia'. This character is an assasin inside of the Tower, that used to belong to the Brotherhood of the Sun (a terrorist group) but later was expelled because of her ways and lack of toleration for the authority of the Empress of the Sun and her Council. It is since then that she wears the yellow of disgrace and cowardice as her colour and works mainly for whomever can meet her price or demands.
It was in this illustration that i first incorporated my limited palette technique to 'Utopia'. What a find! Now i work mostly using it, as it helps me develop the story a lot...
I can't tell you how many illustrations I've seen that use black, white and (blood) red to get your attention.
So many, that I can easily gloss any one over without a second thought.
But greyscale and Yellow! Thats genius! Not to mention a skull, a spider, a robot, a hot girl with a gun and a freaky angel kewpie. You sure know how to get someone's attention.
Heh, heh... many elements in this image are very cool still, though I'm already looking at it with that artist eye that ays "This is way too old and you should do a better version of her"; so, with the cavalcade of favourites this one has, i may just go ahead and do it in the near future...

Thanks for the compliments, my good friend!

Just deleted a bunch of stuff a month ago. Anything that was over four years old had to make room for stuff I'm doing now.
The amount of changes I've made in that time was shocking, even to me. Heh.
You're featured in my news article Yellow Art - The rainbow part III [link]
I hope you come by again and enjoy what I have in the works!
