I've just been given the green light to post this image up here, after working in secret on it for some time. I was approached near the end of last year by the wonderful folks organising the wargaming convention AdeptiCon in Chicago, USA and they asked me if I would be willing to work on a commissioned piece that would serve as a poster and the official artwork for this year's t-shirts and exclusive prints. Of course, how could I deny such a wonderful proposition? Thus, and based on a wonderful model sculpted by Steveh Saleh, this image came to be. As you will notice, I've worked with a full colour palette this time, and the size of the original piece is actually two times bigger than I usually work with. I also had to combine the Sci-Fi aspect of the convention as well as its Fantasy side; that's why I chose to depict a "past and future" warrior, respectively, all merged with the imposing and timeless figure of the Demon. All in all, I'm very proud and pleased with this illustration and I think it will make the convention proud! If any watchers of mine out there will go, then make sure to grab a t-shirt and take some photos! You can visit Adepticon's official site at: [link]
Hope you like it!
PS.. The title, for those totally clueless as to wargaming, is an excerpt from the intro phrase to Warhammer 40,000: "In the Grim Darkness of the Far Future, there is only War."
Felicitaciones!
Dude! Awsome, lovin' the colors of it, and it very much fits both game systems. I like the Empire soldier there, he looks grim and tough, and I always love your Space Marines, though is he just a random blue Marine or does he belong to one of the various blue chapters out there (Ultramarines by the looks of that blue spring to mind)? And that Daemon....looks kinda like Hellboy, what with the horns and beard, but mostly that face. Good work on making him and the others look kinda gritty, which fits with both systems.
I have to admit, when I first saw this I thought you were doing an early celebration for the big Chaos Daemon release in May, as GW is doing both 40k and Fantasy Battle at the same time with that release. But I like this reason better, and if my Dad and I hadn't already agreed to go to Games Day this year, I'd make him take me to Adepticon just to get a shirt or print.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

Great concept, putting WH and 40k side by side behind the demon, I love it!
Nice work!
